Central Australia, Shield

Australia knows many different types of shields. Shields were used as a protection against spears but also used in certain rituals. On the surface of the shields are grooves engraved. The pattern on the shield has a symbolic meaning. The pattern in the middle of the shield could mean people sitting around a campfire and the half circles on the site of the shield could mean people stitting down.
